HVAC ENGINEER

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced HVAC Engineer to join our dynamic team in Lusaka, Zambia. In this pivotal role, you will manage and execute a variety of HVAC projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. Your expertise will contribute to the design coordination, installation, testing, and commissioning of essential HVAC systems, including VRF, chillers, AHU, ducting, and piping. As an HVAC Engineer, you will be at the forefront of project execution, collaborating closely with consultants, clients, contractors, and suppliers. Your day-to-day activities will involve planning and monitoring project schedules, preparing method statements and material submittals, and supervising the installation of HVAC equipment. You will also be responsible for ensuring adherence to safety standards and quality control throughout the project lifecycle, from testing and commissioning to handover documentation. To be considered for this role, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering along with 3-7 years of experience in HVAC project execution. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of HVAC systems, site practices, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. Experience with commercial, hospital, and industrial projects is preferred, along with familiarity in using AutoCAD and basic HVAC design concepts. Technical skills required include: - Proficient knowledge of HVAC systems including VRF, chillers, AHUs, ducting, and piping - Strong understanding of safety standards and quality control measures - Experience in project scheduling and resource planning Soft skills and attributes: - Excellent communication and coordination abilities - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail - Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously Educational requirements: - Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Certifications: - Knowledge of international standards such as ASHRAE and SMACNA is a plus - Experience in project costing and BOQ verification would be an added advantage.
