Electrical Design Engineer (US Projects)

Key Responsibilities Design complete electrical systems for U.S. commercial projects from concept through construction. Prepare electrical plans, power layouts, lighting layouts, panel schedules, riser diagrams, and one-line diagrams. Perform electrical load calculations, voltage drop calculations, short-circuit and coordination studies. Design: Power Distribution Systems Lighting Systems Emergency & Standby Power Systems Fire Alarm Systems Low Voltage Systems Site Electrical Systems EV Charging Infrastructure Develop electrical specifications and technical reports. Coordinate with architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, and plumbing disciplines. Review shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and construction documents. Ensure compliance with: NEC (National Electrical Code) IBC IECC NFPA Standards Local AHJ requirements Utility company requirements Attend project coordination meetings and client discussions. Mentor junior electrical designers and engineers. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. 8+ years of electrical design experience on U.S. commercial projects. Strong understanding of U.S. electrical design practices and permitting requirements. Experience designing: Office Buildings Retail Centers Medical Facilities Restaurants Warehouses Multifamily Developments Educational Facilities Mixed-Use Developments Ability to independently produce permit-ready electrical construction documents. Software Requirements Proficiency in: AutoCAD Revit MEP Bluebeam Revu SKM Power Tools (Preferred) ETAP (Preferred) AGi32 (Preferred) Microsoft Office Suite Preferred Qualifications Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred. Experience working directly with U.S.-based engineering firms. Experience with utility coordination and electrical service applications. Experience in energy code compliance and commissioning support. Knowledge of photovoltaic (solar) and battery storage systems is a plus.
