Structural Engineer

Reviewing construction plans and preparing quantity requirements  Defining, recording and maintaining project brief information from the client and/or other relevant parties to determine design input information  Work with the design team on individual projects in a variety of sectors ensuring that solutions are identified which meet and surpass the client brief  Preparing feasibility studies and structural and civil engineers strategy documents as necessary  Advising managers and clients on improvements and new strategies.  Ensure the culture of the team is one of learning and creativity with people being able and willing to offer highly creative and innovative solutions  Preparing detailed designs and/or construction details for whole projects, buildings, elements or components, including associated specifications, schedules, calculations  Clearly communicating by appropriate means proposed solutions to all design team members and client team  Actively promote the company to external parties and in particular to organizations and people who represent key areas of interest to the company as identified in its Business Plans.  Measure loads and pressures caused by environmental or human influence  Choose appropriate materials based on structural specifications  Obtaining planning and/or building regulations approval  Coordinating both input and output with the other disciplines and reporting output to the Managing Director in time for monthly Executive meetings  Selecting appropriate construction materials & Prepare and allocate budgets  Collaborate with contractors and project managers & Liaising with relevant professional staff such as architects  Building structures based on technical specifications  Tracking project progress and Delivering progress reports

Structural engineers responsible for designing and constructing physical structures to withstand external pressures & provide cost and material estimates, draw up projected budgets, and work alongside a team, noting any design changes and their effect on cost
