🔒 ConfidentialBusiness Development Manager – Industrial Automation Products Location: [PUNE] Department: Sales & Business Development Employment Type: Full-Time Reports To: Head of Sales / Director of Business Development Position Overview We are seeking an aggressive, technically sound, and result-oriented Business Development Manager (BDM) to drive market penetration for our Industrial Automation Products portfolio (including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, Vision Systems and field instruments). In this role, you will be responsible for mapping industrial territories, identifying new capital equipment Manufacturers and automation builders, Manufacturing Plants in order to upgrade opportunities, while managing the end-to-end B2B sales cycle. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of factory environments, can engage with plant heads and procurement teams, and has a proven track record of meeting revenue targets in the manufacturing or engineering ecosystem. Key Responsibilities • Market Expansion & Lead Generation: Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities across key manufacturing verticals (e.g., Automotive, FMCG, Pharma, Packaging, and Warehousing). • Technical Solution Sales: Understand client manufacturing bottlenecks and position our automation products, components, or retrofitting solutions effectively. • Key Account Management: Maintain and scale relationships with Plant Heads, Maintenance Managers, Procurement Teams, and System Integrators. • Sales Cycle Management: Manage the complete sales pipeline, including initial cold-calling, on-site plant visits, technical presentations, commercial negotiations, and closing deals. • Territory Mapping & PJP: Execute structured Permanent Journey Plans (PJP) to routinely cover key regional industrial clusters and manufacturing zones. • Collaboration: Partner closely with our internal Proposal, Design, and Automation Engineering teams to ensure technical alignment before submitting commercial bids. Required Qualifications & Experience • Education: Bachelor’s Degree (B.E. / B.Tech) in Electronics, Instrumentation, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering. An MBA in Sales/Marketing is a strong plus. • Experience: 3 to 7 years of core B2B sales experience specifically selling Industrial Automation products or turnkey engineering solutions. • Industry Network: Established relationships with manufacturing plants, OEMs, or system integrators in the regional industrial belt. Technical & Behavioral Competencies • Product Familiarity: Solid conceptual understanding of factory automation architectures (PLCs, Variable Frequency Drives, SCADA, industrial switchgears, and sensors). • B2B Sales Acumen: Proven ability to manage long, consultative sales cycles for industrial capital goods. • Communication: Exceptional negotiation, pitch presentation, and technical relationship-building skills. • Mobility: Must be highly self-motivated and willing to travel extensively (up to 50–60%) for active plant site assessments and client meetings.
