BIM MEP Coordinator

Model Management & Coordination • Lead 3D BIM coordination for all MEP services: HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, BMS, and ELV for the data center • Develop and maintain federated models in Revit + Navisworks per Google’s BIM Execution Plan and LOD 400 requirements • Manage clash detection/resolution workflows for critical MEP systems with tight spatial constraints typical to data centers • Coordinate raised floor, ceiling void, and riser shaft spaces for UPS, CRAC units, cable trays, bus ducts, chilled water piping, and fire suppression systems Data Centre Specific Requirements • Ensure compliance with Uptime Institute Tier Standards, ASHRAE TC 9.9 thermal guidelines, and Google DC specifications • Coordinate redundancy requirements: N+1, 2N for power and cooling systems in the model • Model containment systems, hot/cold aisle layouts, and coordinate with white space vs grey space services • Maintain accuracy for equipment weights, airflow, and electrical load data for 4 D/5D/6D BIM Standards, Documentation & Compliance • Implement and enforce Google Data Centre BIM standards and client-specific naming conventions • Generate MEP shop drawings, builders work drawings, sleeve layouts, and hanger locations from the coordinated model • Prepare clash reports, RFIs, and coordination logs for weekly client/consultant coordination meetings • Ensure all models comply with NBC 2016, NFPA, IS codes, IEC standards, and local MIDC/Fire NOC requirements for Navi Mumbai Collaboration & Stakeholder Management • Chair MEP coordination meetings with General Contractor, MEP subs, Design Consultants, and Google’s DC Engineering team • Coordinate with commissioning agents to ensure BIM supports activities and asset tagging • Liaise with prefabrication teams for modular MEP skids, PODs, and rack piping modules • Upload and manage models on CDE: BIM 360/ACC, Procore, or client-mandated platform with strict version control Quality & Technical Oversight • Audit subcontractor models for quality, compliance, and completeness before federation • Validate that equipment clearances meet manufacturer specs and future maintenance access is maintained • Track and close all coordination issues using BIM Track/Revit • Support as-built model updates and handover documentation for facility management/IWMS integration Team & Process Leadership • Guide a team of MEP modelers across HVAC, Electrical, PHE, and Fire Fighting disciplines • Establish modelling workflows, QA/QC checklists, and training for project standards • Report progress, risks, and mitigation plans to BIM Manager and Project Manager weekly
