Job Summary The Costing Engineer (Mechanical) will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for MEP projects, managing tender processes, analysing project costs, and supporting budget optimisation. The role requires strong technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and utility systems, along with expertise in cost estimation and vendor coordination. Key Responsibilities 1. Cost Estimation & Tender Management • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates, including materials, labour, equipment, and overhead costs. • Manage the complete tendering process, including preparation, submission, and negotiation. • Analyse drawings, specifications, and project requirements to develop competitive bids. • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to gather cost inputs. • Submit commercial and technical offers to clients within timelines. 2. Project Tracking & Client Coordination • Maintain CRM records for enquiries and tender status. • Follow up with GC/PMC/End Clients for project updates and clarifications. • Support bid clarifications and post-submission negotiations. • Assist management in pricing strategies and bid optimisation. 3. Vendor & Supplier Management • Coordinate with procurement teams to evaluate vendor and supplier quotations. • Negotiate pricing and commercial terms to achieve cost savings. • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key vendors and suppliers. • Support vendor finalisation based on cost competitiveness and technical compliance. 4. Cost Control & Documentation • Maintain accurate documentation of estimates, BOQs, and cost records. • Ensure cost data is updated for future benchmarking and analysis. • Support project teams with cost insights during execution. • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards. 5. Compliance & Quality Standards • Ensure estimates align with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. • Support value engineering and cost optimisation initiatives. • Maintain transparency and audit-ready documentation.

Create 3D HVAC/MEP drawings using Revit software. Prepare detailed installation and shop drawings for site execution. Check and resolve clashes between HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Fighting systems. Update drawings and models as per design changes and site requirements. Coordinate with engineers, consultants, and project teams for smooth project execution. Generate material quantities (BOQ) and reports from the 3D model. Ensure all drawings follow project standards and company guidelines. Maintain updated records and revisions of all BIM models and drawings.

Create and update 3D HVAC/MEP drawings using Revit software. Prepare shop drawings and layouts as per project needs. Check and solve clashes between HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and firefighting systems. Support the design team with drawing revisions and final drawings. Follow company BIM standards and project guidelines. Coordinate with engineers and project teams for smooth execution. Prepare BOQ/quantity details from drawings when required. Maintain proper drawing records and updated versions.

Ensure implementation of safety policies and procedures at construction sites. Conduct regular site inspections and identify potential hazards. Monitor compliance with safety regulations, PPE usage, and safe work practices. Maintain safety records, incident reports, and inspection documents. Conduct toolbox talks and safety training sessions for workers and staff. Coordinate with project/site teams to maintain a safe working environment. Handle emergency response procedures and first aid arrangements at site. Ensure compliance with statutory and client safety requirements.

Supervise day-to-day HVAC installation activities including ducting, chilled water piping, insulation, and equipment installation. • Ensure work is executed as per approved drawings, specifications, and instructions from site engineers. • Manage and monitor site workforce, subcontractors, and technicians. • Coordinate with site engineers and other MEP teams for smooth workflow and execution. • Track daily progress and report status to the Senior Site Engineer / Project Manager. • Ensure proper handling and installation of HVAC materials and equipment at site. • Identify and report site issues, delays, and material requirements proactively. • Ensure housekeeping and proper site discipline during execution. • Support testing and commissioning activities of HVAC systems. • Ensure adherence to safety practices and use of PPE at site.

• Prepare Plumbing shop drawings for various sanitary and plumbing systems including sewerage, water supply lines, drainage, STP/ETP, rainwater drainage, fixtures, and accessories that are good for approval. • Prepare coordinated drawings integrating plumbing services with HVAC, fire, electrical systems. • Review design drawings and specifications, incorporate revisions, and prepare final drafts for execution. • Generate as-built drawings based on site measurements and field updates. • Prepare BIM models (if required) or work with BIM teams to incorporate plumbing systems into coordinated BIM models. • Support Bill of Quantities (BOQ) extraction and material take-offs from drawings. • Collaborate with site engineers to ensure drawings reflect real site conditions, installation requirements, and compliance with codes. • Assist in coordination for tenders, client approvals, and technical clarifications. • Use AutoCAD (mandatory) and Revit MEP (preferred) for drafting and modelling.

• Prepare Fire Fighting shop drawings for various systems, including hydrant systems, sprinkler systems, hose reel systems, fire pump rooms, fire water tanks, landing valves, yard hydrants, and related accessories that are good for approval. • Prepare coordinated drawings integrating fire protection services with HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. • Review design drawings and specifications, incorporate revisions, and prepare final drafts for execution. • Generate as-built drawings based on site measurements and field updates. • Prepare BIM models (if required) or work with BIM teams to incorporate firefighting systems into coordinated BIM models. • Support Bill of Quantities (BOQ) extraction and material take-offs from drawings. • Collaborate with site engineers to ensure drawings reflect real site conditions, installation requirements, and compliance with fire safety codes. • Assist in coordination for tenders, client approvals, consultant reviews, and authority submissions. • Use AutoCAD (mandatory) and Revit MEP (preferred) for drafting and modelling.
