We are seeking an experienced Plumbing Designer with 5–7 years of experience in commercial building projects. The candidate will be responsible for designing plumbing systems for commercial, retail, office, healthcare, educational, and mixed-use developments. The role involves preparing construction documents, performing plumbing calculations, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards. Key Responsibilities * Design domestic water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, natural gas, and specialty plumbing systems for commercial facilities. * Prepare plumbing plans, riser diagrams, isometric drawings, schedules, and specifications. * Perform plumbing calculations including fixture unit analysis, pipe sizing, water demand calculations, and storm drainage calculations. * Develop construction documents using AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP. * Coordinate plumbing designs with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, and civil disciplines. * Review project requirements, applicable codes, and client standards. * Participate in project meetings and coordinate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies. * Assist with permit applications and respond to plan review comments. * Conduct field visits and site investigations as required. * Support project managers in meeting project schedules and budgets. * Mentor junior designers and provide technical guidance. Required Qualifications * Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing Engineering Technology, or related field. * 5–7 years of plumbing design experience in commercial building projects within the United States. * Strong knowledge of: * International Plumbing Code (IPC) * Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC) * International Building Code (IBC) * ADA requirements * Local municipal plumbing regulations * Proficiency in: * AutoCAD * Revit MEP * Microsoft Office Suite * Experience preparing permit and construction drawing packages. * Strong understanding of plumbing system design principles and construction practices. Preferred Qualifications * Experience with healthcare, hospitality, retail, educational, or mixed-use developments. * Knowledge of BIM coordination and clash detection. * EIT certification preferred. * Familiarity with sustainable design practices and LEED projects.
